I got mine just packed this past weekend four weeks three days congratulations mama
I'm 35 weeks and had my bag packed since 32 weeks. I went to the hospital at 33 weeks because i was in pre labor and admitted for a few days. I was glad i had my bag packed. I brought shampoo, soap, head band, magazines and phone charger.:)
I'm 38 weeks today and just put it in my car this morning lol. Put in diapers, wipes, onsies, baby sleeping outfits, blankets, swaddle blanket, hat, pads, nipple pads, slippers, toiletries and loose clothes, phone charger, and goodies for my husband while he is waiting.
Thanx ladies, great ideas. I never thought of packing something for hubby lol but I like that and will be doing the same
My daughter is 4 months now. And I was always so persistent on getting everything done asap. Once I was there I realized you didnt need as much as you think. Hair ties, deoderant, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, nursing bras.. they give you everything for baby and even more to take home.. For them you just need a going home outfit / one for pictures if you're getting them done.. A hat for them if you want them in a different one then the one they give you.. <3
Sorry. I don't usually stress about stuff, so I only pack mine a week or so from my due date. The way I see it, you don't really need anything while you're actually in labor, and if labor comes on sooner than expected, dh can always pack it for me. But what I like to pack is what has been said, plus snacks, if you're nursing. Labor is hunger-inducing enough, especially since you basically don't eat as soon as you're in active labor. But add breastfeeding and you get some pretty wicked hunger pains at inconvenient times, like middle of the night, when the cafeteria is closed. So I pack several non perishable snacks (granola bar and crackers (the packs with the small tins of hummus or chicken salad are perfect)), and add in some fruit once labor starts. And a water bottle.
I have 4 weeks left and still haven't lol I plan on getting everything ready this weekend
It depends on what your hospital has I guess, but I pack an overnight bag for myself, the camera and phone charger, and a baby outfit. My hospital has diapers and a blanket they give you. If you are relatively close to the hospital you can always send someone to grab something if you miss it for some reason.
I just packed my bag at 37 weeks.. Going home outfit for me and baby. Toiletries, underwear, blankets for baby when we go home. Hospital. Usually provides everything for baby while there.
I have had mine packed for a few weeks, has going home outfit for me and baby, toiletries, phone charger, make up that kinda stuff. Now I just need to get busy packing bags for my other kids while they stay with family....
Thanx ladies. I moved from IL to IA since I've had my first born, it's been 10 yrs since I've gave born. I guess I could ask what all they supply. IL hospital gave a few diapers, hair brush, prefilled similac bottles, bulb suction, blanket and I think that's it. I just don't wanna over do it and have too much stuff to carry home even tho we only live 3 min from the hospital lol. I just want to be prepared.
I had baby 12 days ago so this is kind of fresh... For baby just going home Outfit and undershirt, if driving, infant car seat and blankie, hospital provides diapers. For you... bring travel size shampoo and conditioner, belly band if you plan on wearing one, hairbrush, lanolin cream for nipples, slippers, if you like maybe mascara. Going home clothing for you, I flwd my drs advice and took a pair of maternity pants and couldn't thank her enough as I ended up having c section and while u think you will lose lots of water it will be a while. My feet swell after c section, so I had to wear slippers despite all the snow outside. For
