Anyone else test positive for Group B Strep?

This is my first pregnancy and I just heard that I tested positive. My doula recommend that I take probiotics and that it might help get rid of the bacteria but that I should still get the antibiotic Iv fluid during labor.

I am just worried because I don't want anything to go wrong to me or my baby and the Internet has so many horror stories!!!

I tested positive during my 1st pregnancy, too. It's very common. IV antibiotics during labour are a precaution for your little one. Babies can get very sick in the first little while with complications from the Strep, so it's good to go for the antibiotics. The IV is no hassle at all. It all kind of just happens! Hope you have great doctors and midwives to help you through. They do an amazing job!

I tested posative and it wasn't a big deal at all. IV antibiotics during labor and you're all done. Don't stress about it my OB said about 50% of women have it
