With my first I took it easy for about a month. With my second I went back to work after a week. So I guess it depends if you feel up to doing those things but just don't push it or you could injure yourself leaving you out of commission longer than necessary.

Cooking and cleaning I did right out of the hospital at 2 days... light exercising was at 3 days... what they dont tell you is that you have no abdominal muscles for 2 months so doing sits up is literally impossible (at least for me it was)... I had to pull myself out of bed... sex takes 6 weeks. ..

I think a lot has to do with how your labor went. I was back in full motion 4 days later however my friend had a c section and it was a few weeks for her.
