My Birth Story
Let me just explain my last couple of days. Thursday, I went to l&d because of contractions. They told me I was dehydrated and wasn't in active labor, sent me home with pain medicine and told me to keep pushing fluids. Friday, I couldn't stay asleep because I was still hurting. Went about my day anyway the best I could. Last night, I fell asleep at 12:50.. At 1:45, I woke up with the same contractions but they were hurting more. I never went back to sleep because I couldn't. Every time I tried, I had a contraction that hurt too much. So as crazy as it sounds, I got up and did laundry, washed dishes, cleaned the floors, bathroom and said well that's probably enough for now. Eventually, around 10 this morning, I said I think I need to go in. Kept putting it off long enough and finally got to l&d around 12:30. By this point, I was hurting so bad I couldn't leave them a urine sample. She checked me and said well you're a 3.. But sent me straight across the hall. After what felt like an eternity of me wanting to scream and all the hollering I did, I got an epidural. Apparently, the l&d nurse lied because after I got it, the man who put it in said is she still a 6? She came clean and said she didn't want to freak me out by telling me how dilated I really was. My doctor is on vacation so I had a different one deliver me. After 3 pushes, Riley was born... I gave birth to an 8lb 6oz baby y'all.... And he has a temper already. lol I'll add a picture just as soon as I'm finished with this post. I'm still waiting on him to get back from his bath. Then I'll post a "clean" one :)
Labor was no joke going into it on your own. I was in agony for 3 days... Especially today. But thankful that everything went well and he's healthy. Thanks for all the well wishes and concerns for baby man :)))
