Birthing story ( better late than never :-D)

Hi ladies,

Before.  tell you my story I would like to tank you all for your help over the past 9 months! This was my first pregnancy and people like you have helped me more than you know. Thank you for answering my question and all for posting questions that I wouldn't have thought to ask myself. I wish all of you the best in your pregnancies and happy life with your little bundles of joy afterwards :-).

Birthing story (sorry in advance for the length)

So I'll start at the beginning. My due date was the 16th of July. The 16th came and went and there was know sign of my baby wanting to make an entrance. I was getting anxious to meet my baby as we. decided to wait to find the gender. So I went to my hospital appointment on the 17th still no movement or sign of baby. They booked me in to be induced on the 27th of July (11 days after my due date) I really hoped I would go on my own long before the 27th.

Fast forward to the 23rd. I had a gp appointment.  I wasn't feeling to good but I put that down being 41 weeks pregnant. All went well at the appointment.I went to my mum's house and I still wasn't feeling great so I went to bed. I started to get loose bowl movements and the normal cramps you get with that. I also had to wee a lot. There was alot of pressure on pelvis. Nothing unusual about that. The cramps started getting intense. I started timing them the were 31/2. - 4 1/2 minutes apart.  I thought it was all to with the loose bowl movements and I wasn't to concerned as my waters hadn't broken yet. I called my gp and told what was happening and she said go straight to the Hospital, I called my partner I come collect me.
When we arrived the hooked me up to the monitors.  By this time the cramps were extremely pain full. There was different midwives check the reports from the machine they weren't saying anything there was a lot going on and I was in so much pain I'm not sure what was happening. The Doctor came in and did an internal exam the next thing I know there needles being put in my arm and support tights put on my legs all of sudden the bed moving we were heading for the Labour ward. I though to myself this is going fast. I was a little disoriented from being ran down to the delivery room. The bed I was on was bashing thought the doors.  I slid unto the birthing bed. I remember the employees in there being helpful and nice.

Next thing I hear the doctor from the emergency room telling the doctor I'm the Labour ward I was only 1 - 2 cm dilated.  I thought to myself that can't be right. What was the big rush to the Labour ward for if I was on early.  Well I was about to find put the Labour doctor told me when I was having contractions my baby heat rate was dropping dramatically. She explained that she would have to break my waters and make sure everything ok. She was comforting me saying it will be ok your baby will here in a few hours. So she broke them. Unfortunately bad my baby was after pooping in the sack so. I was delirious from the pain and the doctor was telling me what she found and what needed yo happen next.  All I herad was your going to have an emergency c section. I burst into tears gotten such freight. I was so worried for my baby.

They ran me OR. When we got there they stopped my partner coming in while they got me they got me ready for surgery. By this stage I was sobbing uncontrollably. I needed him with me.  They were trying to get the spinal tap in they must have tried 3-4 times. There were people everywhere running around getting things ready. They had to find another Doctor to put in the spinal tap. Before he did he said to me if I can't get tis in we will have to put you under. With those words the tears stopped and I stayed perfectly still even through the contractions. They they lay me down checked to see if I was numb. I was and the doctor looked down on me and said it has started we will have your baby delivered in 2-3 minutes. I said my partner isn't here. The Doctor sent for him just in time. They delivered safely for me and my partner the most BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL IN THE WORLD!!!!.

She only weighted   6 pounds & 1 1/2 ounces. We have called her Ava Rose. She was born at 18.27 on the 23/07/14.  We are totally in love with her. We are just over the moon with happiness!!!

It was and emotional rollercoaster to get her here.  I was a mess. I was so overwhelmed by the hole experience but one thing I'm absolutely sure off I would do it all again her and I wouldn't think twice about it.

Thanks for reading (sorry again it's so long) .

Wishing you all the best for the future.

Ps I really hope I have written this right the nurse gave me morphine for the pain before I started. If it doesn't I'm sorry lol!!!
