Blood clots during pregnancy?

So, I have been having a hard time breathing. I figured it was just a part of this pregnancy. Today I'm 9 weeks!!! However, last Tuesday I was awakened by a very sharp pain shooting through my left side. From my lower rib all the way up through my shoulder. I came into the ER. I have been diagnosed with having several blood clots in both lungs, which started from the back of my left leg. No word on what or how, as I was checked for this condition in October of 2013.
Anywho.... just wondering if anyone has had/having his experience as I'm concerned for my babies health with all of the meds (pain, blood thinners) that I will have to take for the term of my pregnancy.

I've had pulmonary embolism  before I was pregnant. I had 3 clots in one lung and two in the other. It was quite painful and I was treated with warfarin/coumadin pills and eventually the clots dissolved. Warfarin is NOT to be taken when pregnant because it will effect the baby so Lovenox/ heparin shots are often prescribed seeing as it is faster acting and won't reach the baby. I've also had surgery to place a little screen in my body to hopefully catch any blood clots from moving elsewhere in my body to my heart. Now that I'm pregnant I've been on Lovenox shots since week 12ish and I take a baby asprin with it to hopefully prevent any blood clots from forming.  Though shots are not my favorite thing in the world,  I'll do anything it takes to hopefully keep this baby safe. Women with history of blood clotting issues are often prescribed blood thinner shots as a safety precaution and go on to have a successful pregnancy.  Hang in there.
