My mom had to have all 4 of us via c/s for the same reason. So I have heard of it, good luck maybe your pelvis will open up a little bit by37th wk!
This never makes sense as your bones shift during labor thanks to the hormone relaxin and that helps get baby out. I would recommend going natural as epidurals can inhibit success in cases like that because you need to be able to work with your body my moving around and remaining active to move baby down the birth canal. It makes no sense that they wouldn't at least let you try when vaginal birth recovery is so much easier than a major surgery recovery. If I were you I would refuse. At least try for a vaginal. How did your mother birth? We tend to birth the way our mothers did. It would be a very extremely rare case that your body would grow a baby it couldn't get out. In most cases where they use that as the excuse it was actually medical intervention that caused the body not to birth effectively (epidurals, meds, induction, etc).
Many people don't know this but there are 4 possible pelvic shapes that women can have. 2 are not conducive to a vaginal birth, no matter how hard you try. These shapes aren't as common as the other two however there are a decent number of women who just cannot deliver vaginally.
^not true based on the mountains of research and studies I've done on birth. It is one of the excuses that drs make to validate their decision to give a mother a c section ($$$ and convenience for them). Do the research and you will find what I have. Women's bodies come in all shapes and sizes... It's medical interventions that cause problems in the natural process of birth. The main reason a woman giving birth in America ends up with a c section these days is due to induction and epidurals (forcing the body prematurely to give birth before it's ready and epis harm the birthing process by slowing labor, inhibiting movement, birthing hormones, and upright positions that help baby descend and birth effectively). It's the reason the c section rate in the US is over 33% when it should be less than 3%.
Bigapplefamily if you'd like the pictures and descriptions from my nursing text book I can put them up. Less than 10% of women fall into those two shapes but it does happen.
I delivered via csection too. Same reason. And my daughter was just too big for me. I was sad not being able to do it naturally as planned. But she was healthy so at the end that's all that mattered

Well I'm a birth educator and my research has shown that less than 3% of all births should end in c secti
So you can think what you want but your books are based on a knowledge of intervention. The cause of most c sections. And it is not based on a knowledge of the natural birthing process.
iam having csection Tuesday for same reason I also had my first csection good luck iam only 4"6 lol its not that bad u will do good
My books teach all aspects of birth including natural birth... Not just a knowledge of intervention.
Well all the research I have done says otherwise and I'm an expert on natural birth. I cannot tell you the multitude of women who have had c sections because "the baby was too big or the bone was in the way" and they went on to birth larger babies vaginally later. The lack of knowledge of natural birth my obstetricians and nursing staff is widespread. They are trained in intervention and simple things like a slow labor are looked at as negatives that need to be intervened when in truth it's natural for some women to labor for days. I'm just giving an example. It's a sad truth.
