C-section mommies???

To all the mommies who have had c sections what would u do to care for ur incision? Also how long did it take for it to heal?

I had my c section 1 wk ago and my incision is so itchy and sometimes i get some pain. I want it to heal faster so that i can enjoy my days with my 3 kids but the pain sometimes keeps me away from having fun. My mom told me that it looked red in a small part so i thought it was infected. I went to the dr and he said that it was not infected but he gave me antibotics to prevent an infection.

Mine took about a month and a half to heal completely. Most of it was healed within a few weeks but I had one stubborn spot that was about an inch long that took awhile. I just kept it dry as I could and washed it with soap and wash cloth a few times a day. I was also prescribed antibiotics but didn't take them in fear of thrush.. im breastfeeding

Keep it clean and let it get air as often as possible. Don't wear any tight clothing that could irritate until it's fully healed. And just get up and move around as mu cheaper as you can without over doing it. The more your walking around the quicker it gets better.

Ihave had 2 C-Sections already and this is going to be my 3rd. The best thing is to rest and don't lift more than you are supposed to. Always wear your stomach binder and use a hand mirror to look at it once a day to make sure it hasn't opened up. On my 2nd one i opened my incision back up and that will just make the wait longer :-( hang in there it will start to feel better soon

Being itchy means that it is healing and for pain take Tylenol regularly.  It takes awhile to heal it's a major surgery.
