I read in a book my doctor gave me that sleeping on your back cuts of circulation in a major vein that brings blood back from your lower body.

Try a pillow between your knees to.
So they don't ache.

After 28 weeks the doc said on ur side!! I hate to sleep on my side but he told me to get 2 big pillows and put one on each side and sleep like that!  I'm trying that cause I'm almost 27wk and I just don't want any other complications then I'm already dealing with! Good luck it's hard to change sleep patterns cause I would love to sleep on my stomach and the day I had my first daughter in the hospital I slept on my stomach!  All the nurses were laughing at me!

Its recommended that you don't sleep on your back because it puts a lot of pressure on your organs and spine, especially after 4 months or so. But if its comfy for you and not making you sore, I don't think its terrible. You just may want to prepare for some discomfort later on if you do it all the time.
