Early ultrasound no baby, any one experience this?

I am 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and my OB sent me for an early ultrasound because I miscarried my last baby. We were able to see the yolk sac, but no baby. I'm terrified. Any one have a similar experience to share. How did everything end up?

Thank you for the encouraging words. My OB sent me for bloodwork today to check my hcg levels. I'm terrified for the call, but trying to be hopeful.

Thank you so much. I'm so happy for all of you. I had my hcg levels taken again today and they seem to be doubling normally. Another ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday. I'm terrified because I'm sure it will tell the story of the direction we are going, but your words give me hope. Thank you and best wishes to you all through the rest of your pregnancies and deliveries.

If the hcg is doubling normally you have nothing to worry about mama

I went to the ER when I was 5 weeks and 1 day because I was having abdominal pain on my right side. I had two misscarges before this pregnancy. They gave me an ultrasound and the sac was measuring 5weeks and 6days however they couldn't see an embryo at that time. I was scared to death. But I am happy to say that I am 32 weeks pregnant with a very active baby girl! Keep your head up! Hopefully everything will be fine!

If you are definitely 6w there should be a fetal pole visible.  How did they determine you are 6w?  Last period or scan measurement?

They determined it by my last period...first day of my last period was June 5th.
Ok well unless you start bleeding you should assume you are less than 6w and that's why there was nothing to see yet.  They will have assumed you ovulated on day 14 but not all women do (personally I usually ovulate on day 19 and 5 days makes a big difference at this stage).  A blood test to check hcg levels or another scan in a  couple of weeks should give you a clearer idea of what's happening.

Well that's pretty early to see anything at all. My doctors won't do ultrasounds earlier than 7-8 weeks because there's nothing to see most of the time.
