First scan measuring a week behind

Hi All

Had my first scan yesterday we thought I was 6.5 weeks but my baby measured at about 5.5 weeks. We saw the heart beat (flutter) but it was too early to hear it. I'm being scanned again on Monday and my HCG tested again later in the week. Everything else looks perfect just the dates not adding up. Anyone else had the same with a successful outcome? My obgyn is only concerned with the dates that the baby may not be growing even though we have the heart flutter.

I'm only mildly concerned because the shape of everything looks perfect but still that niggling concern.

I had the same thing and I'm now bye me 42 + weeks and bye the scan I'm 41+2days it happens as not everyone ovulated the same so that's where the confusion lies.

Same here i was measuring small so my due date changed from oct 6 to oct 13. Dr said sometimes we ovulate later in our cycle so it was nothing to worry about

Ah don't worry! I'm sure everything will be fine. I had the exact same thing happen to me in the beginning. I thought I was  around 6.5 at first scan but baby barely measured 5 weeks. When I went back for another scan at around 11 weeks the growth had gone right back to where I'd originally thought I was at! So I was almost 13 not 11!

Yup, I had the same thing. They did see the baby and the heartbeat she just showed smaller than what was calculated based of my LMP. My due date was pushed back 1 week (which is super depressing because i was supposed to be 10 weeks at the time and going backwards makes the pregnancy seem longer) BUT we are now 36 almost 37 weeks and she is now measuring 2 weeks ahead!
