Fragile X
Hi all,
I'm 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. I got a random phone call today (6 weeks after my first blood panel) and my doctor told me that my numbers for the Fragile X testing was 30-47. And the negative or "norm" is under 45. So she said that barely puts me into the intermediate category but she had to tell me because of that factor. She said most of my chromosomes were normal but the higher end of them was 47 putting me into that category. So naturally I am freaking out because I have no way of knowing anything unless I get an amnio done. I'm putting all this info out there because I'm wondering if anyone h as had or knows of any numbers that havecome back like this for Fragile X or any other disorder, and what the result was for their baby? Just trying to put my mind at ease a bit. Thanks moms!

Thank you so much for those responses! Makes me feel so much better. Only a few of my chromosomes went over that marking so I just didn't understand. Hoping for the best, thank you for all the advice!
The same thing happened to my cousins wife. She ended up doing the amnio and the results showed the baby to be just fine. The boy is 9yrs old now and perfectly healthy.
I don't know about fragile x but we had a false positive for downs...our baby girl came out just fine and healthy! I know what it's like to get that phone call and I'm sorry you have to go through the unknowing! We opted out of the anmnio because we didn't think the risks were worth it. Just try not to stress to much for yourlittle one. Good luck momma!
