when do i get firat ultrasound??

im 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant and STILL have not had an ultrasound done,i thought by now i would have had at least two or three done by now. When should i expect my first one?

I got my first at five weeks cuz my dr wanted to make sure it wasnt a false positive cuz I wasnt able to get preg for years since then ive had 4 more n im 27 weeks  maybe voice ur concerns to ur dr and hopefully they will listen also on my birthday I paid for a 4D scan as my bday present was only $50 it was a special but I couldnt wait.till my next scan hang in there and dont stop bringing it up to ur dr goodluck

Yeah you def should have had a dating scan - the earlier these are done the more accurate. The 12wk one is a personal choice (I opted not to have it as I would have kept baby regardless of downs), then at 20wks they'll check the growth etc and you can find out the sex if desired. Assuming all is well that will be it unless there are growth issues either too big or too small then you get a 34wk one.  I would be asking why these haven't been offered!

I had one at 5 weeks, 8 weeks, and im sceduled for another at 13 weeks.

Here in New Zealand all maternity care is free including scans. Im 19+2 and had a dating scan at 12wks which showed bubba was only 10+5 so I went back a week and a half later for the 12wk scan to check for abnormalities. I have another special scan on the 13th to check babies heart as heart conditions run in the family and then anatomy scan on the 20th at 22wks coz the clinic was booked until then. Then also get a final scan at 34wks. So yeah you should be due for your second or third!

It all depends on your insurance. My insurance covered two, they aren't really necessary if your having a normal pregnancy. You should get your first at 20 weeks, to find out the gender. That was my first.

The 2 main ones you get are at the 12 week mark, this one is for the the trans nuchal readings to determine your risks of the baby having Down's syndrome and any other abnormalties usually this one is accompanied with a blood test. The other is done at 20 weeks, this is the anatomy scan. They check the heart, lungs, kidney, stomach, brain and all the other measurements such as head, arms, legs... Etc. at this scan they can usually tell you the sex of your baby if you want to know. It is common after these, if your I great health, to not have any more.  I would deff be asking your Dr what is going on and why you haven't had the usual tests to check the health of your baby. It's his responsibility to ensure all is well with both you and bub!

normally they do one between 6-12w to get a more accurate due date like bigbelly3 said and then the second around 20w to check the sexs. some get one inbetween to check for issues but my doc had me wait till 20w so they could get a really good look. but u most deff should have had atleast one by now unless ur doctors policy is different but idk y it would be.

Yea you should of atleast had 2 i got mine at 7 weeks to see a more accurate due date then i got one at 12 weeks to see if baby showed abnormalitys like down syndrome and thr spinal one and im getting another in nov 6 my 20w scan
