I had a quick pap & got to hear the heartbeat! Pee in a cup, blood pressure, blood draw & questions. I was nervous too but it's so exciting!!
I had my first appt yesterday, and i agree with the above answers but I was also able to see my lil peanut with an ultrasound :)
It's not too terribly bad. They will mostly ask about your history, sexual partners, STD history, last period, length of cycle, ect. Both of my pregnancies on the first appointment they did a vaginal exam, will take urine, possibly some blood. Go over hospital and delivery information, answer any questions, ect
I had an vaginal ultrasound my first appointment, very happy hubby was with me. My older two kids were with us as well
For the first visit they just take urine to confirm your pregnant and check for any UTI. They also ask a million basic questions including your sexual history, like exposure to any STDs. They'll ask your last menstrual cycle as well + take your height and weight. Lastly they'll take a few vials of blood from you which will be used to see if you have any STDS or anemic/ maybe some other stuff. You're husband is very irrelevant for the first visit but it's still nice to have him there for moral support and so he can meet the dr. After the visits they'll then schedule you an ultrasound.
