Headaches and Caffeine

I gave up caffeine in January as I knew we'd be trying to conceive this year. I switched to decaf in all coffee drinks with the very rare exception of when I'm craving somethings ridiculously sweet a delicious, I'd get an iced mocha coffee from jack in the box1
I cut them out completely when I found out I was pregnant in June. My first trimester I would get crazy migraines lasting three days at a time. As of the past few weeks, I've been getting headaches. My mom kept telling me I should have a little bit of caffeine. About three weeks ago I caved, and went to jack in the box for my coffee. I figured they're so sweet how much caffeine can really be in them lol. Literally I drink maybe half of a small coffee, I've my head for about 30 min, and viola- headache gone! I've done this about 4 times. So, here is my question (and I'll ask my OB), is it risky to introduce caffeine now seeing as how I had zero my whole first trimester? I know you're allowed up to 200mg of caffeine (or about 2 cups coffee) per day and I know I am nowhere near that, but wonder about the late introduction. Anyone else drinking coffee or introduce it late?

I cut it out for my first trimester and by my 2nd my OB actually told me to start having a cup a day. Dr was actually wondering how I held out without any for 12 weeks

Your fine to drink some. I had it on and off my whole pregnancy and my son turned out fine. I did have hypertension so I cut it out at the end because it helped my blood pressure.

I've only been sticking to decaf coffee in my pregnancy (9 weeks). Your headaches might not be due to caffeine  withdrawal it can also be a pregnancy symptom, I've been getting lots. I found that with my constant fatigue real coffee doesn't help anyways. You are at highest risk for miscarriage is in the first trimester so I would be extra careful and stick to the recommended amount. Try drinking more water throughout the day to help ease and prevent headaches!
