Help scared

Hello ladies,
I am 36 weeks and 4 days according to my calulations. But I went to the Drs on Friday and they said my baby measures at 33 weeks and some days. Now they are saying that they want to induce me in 12 days. I am scared that my baby will be in incubator. I am stressing so much I don't know who to turn to and I am also getting the stress test twice a week. I don't know what to expect or do. Husband is like things happen but I feel like I did something wrong

The measures show how big they are, not how mature. They put them in NICU only if they are to thin to mantain their body temperature, they have breathing problems or can't eat. If the baby's organs are mature, even if he/she is small, it won't be a problem. So, it's better to be 38 weeks looking like a 33 weeker, than a 33 weeker big and fat like a 38 week old one. Hope you are both fine :)

Don't stress, its nothing you did. Sometimes the placenta ages too fast and doesn't give enough nutrients to the baby, which is why they're inducing.

My first was born at 34 weeks and we only had a 6 day NICU stay.  You will be past that and as long as the baby weighs enough, it should be fine. It is nothing you did wrong.  Why do they want to induce though?

So you'll be 38 weeks when induced?
With my first, my daughter was born at 37 - induced for the same reason. Measuring 32 weeks. When she was born she was 2.5kgs. So long as they are over 2.3kgs there will be no incubator.
I spent 2 nights in hospital and not a thing wrong with my little cherub. No incubator, no tubes... She was perfect.

I wouldn't stress. They have no way of knowing 100% how big a baby is while in the womb. Most are educated guesses. Even if baby is 33 weeks and they induce in 12 days that means baby will be borderline 35 weeks along which is still very good. I assume they are giving you steroid shots? Especially if they think the baby is younger than 36weeks?
Anyways what I'm trying to say is don't stress and it's nothing YOU did. It's something you can't control. Even if baby has to stay in NICU for a couple days there's nothing wrong with that. I'd be more worried if you were 30 weeks or less since those are major growth weeks. My sister delivered her triplets at 34 weeks and they were only in NICU for 2 weeks before she started taking them home one by one.  Really relax as much as you can and just be prepared for whatever. Hopefully you really are 36 weeks and baby comes out perfectly fine (at 38) and you all can go home within 24-48 hrs.
