This is my 1st pregnancy n I don't mind wearing my maternity clothes. there r cute stuff. I got all my clothes from old navy n I never shopped there b4 my pregnancy but I love them!
I absolutely hate them! I avoided them as much as possible with the first one and I'm trying to avoid them this time around. I'm excited to wear skirts and dresses this summer though but I don't like the maternity dresses and skirts. I tried them on but it didnt look/fit right. I still shop in regular the regular clothing section for my clothes and still fit in the same size before I got pregnant.
My issue with maternity clothes is that they all seem to be made for women who were skinny before they got pregnant. Pants and shorts don't leave me any room for my thighs...they all seem to be pregnancy versions of skinny jeans or whatever. It's very uncomfortable. I've been wearing sweatpants and track pants, and large t-shirts, but I'm going to grow out of them soon.
I didn't want to buy maternity clothes either. So I went a few sizes up and a place called Cato. It's a women's seasonal fashion type store. And the also have plus sizes is such pretty clothes. And very reasonable prices! I just went last week and got long cotton skirts, short dressy skirts tops and sandles. And the best part. All soft materials with elastic waste bands... so ill have room to grow. Just a thought gland idea for you ladies...
I refuse to buy any maternity clothes. I have just been wearing dresses and maxi skirts with long stretchy shirts. It works. I don't want to spend any money on clothes I won't wear again if I don't have to.
And yes, Bella Bands are excellent!
I got a lot second hand...and they're gorgeous! Thyme has great clothes. Super expensive, but so cute. If you can get them consigned or from friends its great.
I wear bella bands the brand name so to speak cause they have the elastic around the bottom so it never slid up i have seen off brands that slide up when you bend Over and I leave my jeans Un buttoned I only have 4 but don't need anymore than that. I ordered some maternity shirts from motherhood.com got six for 80 dollars and best thing was I got a car package that had car seat canopy baby sling udder cover and boppy pillow coupons where you only pay shipping clothing coupons baby clothing coupons bunches of stuff so I find that totally worth it I am 27 weeks pregnant and no maternity pants yet so If you can recommend them
Asos.com have cute clothing if you don't mind ordering things.
I hate them too. I've been living in dresses, tights & long shirts. My belly got really big with this pregnancy & nothing fits anymore. So I had to try the maternity clothes... hated them. Trying to find something cute & comfy is so hard.
They have really cute stuff! It's just expensive for the short time you'll be wearing them. I got all my maternity clothes at Goodwill and they were target brand, motherhood, gap. And my friend.let me borrow hers. I got two pants of jeans on ebay for 20bucks that were target brand. II've bought one new maternity item, a new shirt for my baby shower. Everything else I bought used or borrowed. I'm a CNA and do homecare and all my scrubs are.too small. I have one top that fits and my.boss got me a bigger size of scrub pants at Goodwill, other than that my boss lets me wear yoga pants or sweats. One of my coworker lost weight so she.bought me a couple large shirts from maurices to get me.through the last few weeks. I'm due in 18 days and didn't have but a few t.shirts since it's getting warmer and I'm.not. buying anything. I.did score a few maternity tanks from Goodwill.l the other day.
Ross over here by house discontinued maternity clothes :(
I have a few pieces of Maternity clothing.for "special occasions" but honestly I live in my old stuff. I was complimented on my shirt the other day and said it's "Ann Taylor" she said "I didn't think she made maternity clothing" lol I don't think she does. Anything empire waist seems to work for me and yoga pants. I refuse to spend money Maternity Scrubs so I've been wearing Mens Dickies :)
Call me crazy but I love them!!! I'm actually only 14wks+4 but being really small to begin with I noticed early on my pants were getting really tight. I have s hard time buying s size up because they'll fit my waste but be super baggy in the butt or way too long. ROSS, MARSHALLS, and old Navy have really cute stuff that doesn't even look like maternity. I found plain all colors cotton t-shirts for 2.99 at Ross! If all else fails the weather s getting nicer so you could live in maxi dresses :) best of luck!
I have dresses too though that are very comfy and easy to slip on.
You ladies should try old navy or marshalls i seen really cute tops they have pretty saying like "life's better with a Bump" "if that's my family I hear Im not coming out " lol etc. in white and pink and or other pretty colors. I agree with you first time around I found ugly and really expensive clothes too. I only brought a couple things to switch around. I really don't want to waste money either. Im not sure yet if this will be my last my im sure one of my little cousins will be having children. I plan to take care them and hand them down if I don't need them. I found bottom for 10 bucks and tops for 6 bucks at Marshalls. Not all my shirts are about being prego so after baby i could still wear them, but I thought I'd really enhance my belly this time around :) but hey its up really up to you guys at the end of the day just thought id share. Check out old navy.com for a general idea. Have good enjoy your baby bumps. :)
That's what I'm wearing, sun dresses
Hate them! Avoiding them too... maxi dresses, cotton fold down skirts, tights and long shirts. Anything not to wear them! Hahaha.
The actual cute stuff is just beyond expensive. It does exist, though lol.
I dunno.... my mom gave me some really cute maternity shorts that she used to wear. They're definitely more comfortable than today's maternity crap. She's been going to thrift shops and finding all these older maternity clothes to wear so I'm actually pretty comfy and love it! If I had to wear new stuff though I don't think I could.
I live in Australia and will have most of my pregnancy during this winter.
and YES, Maternity clothes are incredibly ugly!!
I find a few cute dresses online, but I cant wear dresses in winter..
and the tops are very unflattering. I know its not easy to dress up a huge baby bump, but, are the designers even trying?
I hate them also.. I've been wearing Maxy dresses/sun dresses.. I bought one yesterday at forever 21 for $10.80
