Induction

Hello ladies, Im 40 weeks and 4 days and if I dont go into labor by this Sunday I have to go in for induction on Monday. Did any of you ladies have to be induced?? Can you share your stories? How long were you in labor for? What method of induction did they use??   Etc.

I was induced with my first and the contractions were a lot more intense and closer together than when I went into labour naturally with my second. I ended up having an epidural after being induced whereas I done it all naturally second time round. They put me straight on the pitocin drip as I was already dilated to 3cm I was induced at 38 weeks because my waters broke but after 24 hours nothing else had happened.

Ive heard that too.. Ive heard it skips the mild pain you go through with regular contractions and dives into the more painful ones right away... and they say contractions are longer and closer together.

I was induced 2 days early with my first. The labor was awful but worth the end result. After I got the epidural I was fine. Being induced just makes contractions hurt more.

I was induced at 37 weeks for both my previous deliveries not sure what they used. But they put in in my cervix. Kinda like a cervical exam. They just inserted it in but I didn't feel anything and it didn't hurt. The 1st couple of hours it was just waiting getting comfortable and joking around with the husband. Also using ipad phone and watching tv. Once the pain started it was like natural labor. Just getting monitored and baby also. They started slow and slowly intensified.. started with back pain then contractions. . Was allowed to walk and they kept checking on me. Once I was dialated doc came in and baby was born quickly. I went in at 5 pm and delivered by 1 am. Minimal pain. Was painful but noting too bad.
