What a load of rubbish , that's like actually believing that the ring on a string works to predict what your having or peeing on your phone will tell you your pregnant,  gosh so many people worry to much in today's societys due to myths, legend  , old wives tales it's all bs.... Heres a thing to do.. Rub your belly and tell your unborn baby how much he/she is loved and that no matter what you will make sure they never have to worry as you will always be there to take them worries away not by giving them something red, nor a pin..  Just a reassuring hug xxx

If you watch a lunar eclipse during your pregnancy, your baby will have a cleft lip
This ancient myth has been traced back to the Aztecs. They believed that an eclipse was a bite on the face of the moon. If a mother watched it, the same thing would happen to her baby. For protection, the mom must carry something metallic, such as a safety pin, on her underwear. Although it's a beautiful myth, the truth is that a cleft palate is caused by a blend of genetic and environmental factors that in no way include the planets.

I read this from the babycenter website.

It's just a myth. Nothing to be scared of. We just have to have faith in God and pray that our babies will be healthy and safe regardless of any lunar eclipse or any occurrence in the environment. Take care.

#chase11162014 a eclipse is some cultures is suppose to be a bad omen for pregnant women.  Its is believed that it may cause deformity or cleft lip. There are things you can do to prevent from such things to happen like wearing a key or a pin and something red this is for Hispanics culture. The myth changes for different cultures....

Okay so ever since I got prego my mil has been telling me about this and to put a key and safety pin on me. I didn't know there was an eclipse tonight, she will be bugging me soon about it...I just Google searched it and there is no scientific proof of an eclipse harming pregnant women or there babies.  And depending on what culture you are the myths change like in India pregnant women are not supposed be near metal objects so there...contradicting the key and pin superstition in the Hispanic culture....so I am choosing to believe in God and my obgyn, and my high risk dr:) and facts that state the truth:) we will be fine ladies♡

Well I'm a firm believer of this myth since my grandmother went out during a lunar eclipse and was pregnant with my father who ended up being born with cleft lip. So I'm staying inside.. just my personal feelings ladies not to scare anyone...

There is nothing to be scared of. With my 1st son I gave birth during full moon the only thing that happens is you get more strenght and your active labor goes much faster. I got to the hospital at 4 am and my son was born at 5am nothing was wrong with him . He was born very healthy and no complications or issues. Thank god. So theres nothing to be worried about and I am hispanic but I don't see the full moon as bad I actually see it as a good thing! Good luck to you all.

Please be carful posting this as many women have been brought to tears with fear for there children over something that has no evidence of being real. I no most hispanic people believe in it but there is not enough evidence to corse so much stress on so many expectant mums
