Membrane sweep input?

Any experiences from other moms on getting a membrane sweep to induce labor?  Did it work for you?  How quickly?

I'm 39 weeks.  My husband and I have are contemplating asking my midwife for a membrane sweep at my appointment tomorrow if I'm dilated and effaced.

I did it twice one at 38 weeks , then another at 39 weeks. I am now pass my due date with no signs of labor. Hope it works for you.

I had it done at 38 weeks and had cramps, got it done at 39 weeks and nothing, I'll be 40 weeks and due tomorrow, with a sweep set for friday...I guess it affects us all differently.

Thanks, ladies.  I'm gonna give it a go.  I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions like craaaaazy, so hopefully this'll help turn them into the real deal. :)

Id say its worth a go, I had mine on a wed & went into labour on the fri, so it didt work straight away but im glad I did it im gunna have one this time also :-)

It worked for me. I had it done around 10 am and my little guy was born before 10 pm. I started having contractions pretty quickly but held off til 7 pm to go to hospital amd was at 6 when I got there. If you are dialated and effaced it can be effective but my ob told me it all depends on your body and baby. If baby isn't ready nothing will work, but it is worth a shot!
