My Labor Story <3

Charlotte Elizabeth was born Oct 1 at 8:38pm. 9lb 3oz and 21in long. I went in at 6am for an elective induction at 39w 4d. I had been in "early labor" for 4 days with no progression, so my Dr and I decided to induce. That day my Dr got stuck in emergency surgery, so I was on low dose potocin until noon before he could break my water (there was SO MUCH). My contractions at 6 am were 3 min apart but I couldn't feel them. After he broke my water they were stronger, but not bad. I got to 2pm, the pitocin increasing every hour. That's when they got tougher. But I was still only a 4. When he said it would be at least 5-6 more hours I knew I couldn't do those contractions every 3 min that long. I got the epidural and had no complications. After a nap, about 8 I felt strong pain and they checked I was a 10. The nurse coached me through some pushing until my Dr got there. Pushed with him about 10min and she came right out. I had zero pain. She's healthy and prefect and really beautiful.

If you have questions, please ask! Thank you for all the support!!

Oh, meant to put that I didn't tear or anything despite her size. My Dr was even surprised she ended up so big. We were estimating just under 8lb.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't tear bc my baby is going to be a big baby as well. I hope I don't tear. Congrats on your beautiful baby girl! I'm still waiting. I have 3 days left until my due date. So excited! I might have to be induced Monday morning. I'm to go in labor by sunday tho. Wish me luck :-)

You really never know. My friend had her son 6 weeks ago and he was 7.12 and she had a second degree tear. Then I didn't have any. I can tell you that being relaxed makes a BIG difference. You can push without being tense, my nurse helped me a lot. It made things pretty easy. Good luck with yours!!
