NICU

So I delivered my handsome baby boy last night Jan. 19th @ 8:06 pm via csection... I was 37 weeks and apparently I had lots of fluids that the believe the baby may have inhaled. He is having difficulty breathing and is currently on oxygen. I'm freaking out I haven't been able to see him since I delivered. I want to exclusively breastfeed but haven't had the opportunity to bond with my son yet.  I'm soo worried if he'll be ok,  any other moms out there go thru something similar with a good out come?
Need to know I'm not alone

Thanks guys... yes he did inhale the fluid during delivery. Xray show liquid in his lungs and his breathing is very rapid. He is going to be in NICU at least till Friday. I'm trying to look at the positive just soo hard when my baby cries I can't even pick him up to comfort him. I'm also not producing enough milk so they are supplementing with formula.

Alot of babies even delivered at, full, term need oxygen. I am a mother of 4 and one on the way our 3rd child was in the nicu for about 2 mths and she was on oxygen for almost the whole time but done amazing. Now she is she healthy 8 yr old. Are they, telling u why he needs oxygen. Like maybe he doesn't have the fluids to make his lungs expand. If so don't worry, to much I'm sure he will be fine.  Good luck and congratulations

My daughter was in the nicu for 2.5 months.  Not exactly same circumstances. But great outcomes I would say.  She came home completely healthy.  It's normal to be scared.   I started pumping as soon as she was born.  She didn't eat for about 3 weeks.  But as soon as she was able to have some they had my milk stored at the hospital. I was able to try putting her on my breastfeeding but she wouldn't eat that way.  Either way I breastfed her for 1 yr 3 months.
