Nicu :(

Finally had my surprise baby and it's a boy! Now I have one of each. Tucker Dean 10lbs 5ozs! was born via induction.. Was hooked up to pitocin at 11am had my water broke at 3pm he was born at 6:30pm it was epidural n pain med free and he was born really quickly, was out in two contractions.. He had to be suctioned n oxygenated after birth from lack of breathing.. Abd gad continued to have trouble breathing, and also hasn't been wanting to nurse. Blood test was ran and it shows he has some type of infection, they're not sure what kind. They are giving him Iv antibiotics and did a blood culture n lumbar puncture, won't get the results back for two days.. I'm so worried for my little man and I can't get him interested in nursing and he is looking jaundice to me now..  Feeling helpless, your baby being sick is one of the worst feelings..

Nicu nurses are amazing! Tucker has been released from nicu into pediatrics, so that is good.. Haven't pinpointed the infection yet, but the antibiotics are working! He is under the photo therapy light now cus his jaundice wasnt so good.. I'm so tired and all I want to do is hold my baby and take care of him without a ton of wires attached to him or be afraid I'm gonna accidentally bump his Iv line.. Can't wait till we get to go home..

Congrats on your lil man. Sorry he had so many issues at the beginning. After my cousin had a baby at 24 weeks, I am a huge fan of the nicu nurses. What they do is amazing.

He was 8days overdue.. It was my second time being induced, and it was extremely painful and really fast this time. With my first it was 12hrs from start to finish. Tucker was out 3 n 1/2 hrs after my water was broke. I was checked and I was dilated to 8 I had another contraction and he was coming, they told me not to push cus the doc wasn't there and my placenta hadn't been cleared or something, but I could help it my body was pushing at that point, not me.. The doc showed up just as he was starting to make an appearance..

Thank you all for your words of encouragement, it really does help hearing it.. I'm happy at the moment, Tucker just got a round of his Iv antibiotics and is all alert and nursing well..

Congratulations! I'm sure the doctors and nurses in the nicu will be taking good care of him. My daughter had to go to nicu for 5 days she had a sugar issue and was fine.
