No Intercourse

Hi everyone,
this is a little awkward for me...but here goes (I'll do my best to keep it short).
I am currently on my 3rd pregnancy- first two were successfully to term, 7+6. I found out two weeks ago about my pregnancy and DH and I are happy as can be (we'd been trying for 3 yrs). And other two pregnancies were ok- the only worry was my Pre-Clampsia. Since then (6 yrs no pregnancies) since then my menstrual cycle was whack! Lasting from 3-8 weeks bleeding and getting a period every 2 months. :/ Later on about 3 years ago Dr found two blood clots- DEBT and PE. It was quite scary- since I was only 24 yo. Plus lets not forget my whacky period. I had a blood transfusion and blood thinners- no longer needed. Since then I've been alot better, however my now Dr isn't thrilled about my pregnancy and ordered me no intercourse in the meantime. I've had my u/sound and labs say everything's ok- but I disagree w/ no intercourse.  For some reason I'm really in the mood. We did it anyway and got scared because felt a few sharp pains in my lower belly but no blood/spotting and pain went away after a few minutes. Could an orgasm trigger something?  :O :/  ... thank in advance for reading.

Wow! Thanks for the responses, it was all very informative. I do plan on speaking to my Dr in regards to this I was curious as if I was being a brat. :/ ... But now that I've read I'm sure to follow orders. But gosh it's been so hard- I even have dreams of DH and I, luckily no orgasm. @YoungLadyDay14 your situation seems a lot worse than mine. I hope everything goes well. ;)

I would say listen 2 ur doc. My hubby & I hvent been able 2 have intercourse which has been pure & utter torture 4 both of us. I have a cervical cerclage, so if we tried my hubby penis would get cut up from my stitches. Any who we have resorted to a lot of 4 play & alternatives, but my doc made it very clear that I could not have orgasms. He said bcuz I'm high risk it could cause contractions that could cause me 2 have pre term labor or a miscarriage.

Female orgasms causes minor uterine contractions,  but it's usually not contraindicated.  But if your dr told you not to have sex,  you may want to talk to the dr to hear the full explanation as to why you, specifically,  shouldn't.  That would probably motivate you to follow instructions.

Orgasm and semen can trigger contractions.  Even when not pregnant, there's times I've had to have a bath to ease a cramp after sex.
