Behr Premium Plus is zero fume paint. It really doesn't smell, I slept in my room the day it was painted and I'm seriously sensitive to paint fumes. No headaches.
Painting is fine. Yuan buy a mask if you are worried. But my doc told me to make sure it was week ventilated and use latex.
Oil based paint is unsafe and led paint is dangerous to everyone.
Led paint is illegal where I am .
As everyone said keep room ventilated etc.
Is using ladders safe? ??:/;
HOWEVER ... PERSONALLY if it was me. Id be happy to use the excuse of being pregnant bit to not paint and have your partner do it :)
Do get low VOC! Best paint ever!
Like these other women said just keep it ventilated. Some paints are not safe to use during pregnancy like oil based paints but a regular household paint (one you can clean up with soap and water) is totally fine as long as you keep the room ventilated.
I painted my daughters room when pregnant with her and painted my living room this time and need to paint my bedroom. It's totally fine. I have a month left and have never been told its not ok. Keep the windows open and a fan going and you will be fine.
Just finished painting the nursery and I'm 28 weeks. Just keep the windows open and use a low odor paint.
Get the bear low VOC paint from home depot, it doesn't smell. We painted or whole house with it. It has primer built in so you only have to do one coat, it costs a little bit more per can, totally worth it
It depends on the paint you use i tried to help but got very sick half way through so my husband band me from the room lol
At the beginning of my pregnancy we were moving and remodeling our new house. I painted every single room. I had already done a ton of painting and asked the doctor about it at my first appt and they said it was fine as long as the room was ventilated and todays paint isn't as bad as it used to be. I also painted the nursery around 25 weeks pregnant.
There are paints that are supposedly safer to use..as long as the room is well ventilated. However, you are in your third trimester and toxins actually come off the walls months after you are done painting the room. I mean. Def talk to your doctor. But my husband painted the nursery whrn we knew we were having a girl so it had plenty of time to air out with windows open for weeks. It all depends on your feelings towards it:) good luck!!
4 years ago my sister and I painted her nursery for her daughter (we were both pregnant and in our 2nd trimester)... we made sure to keep everything ventilated but we never checked with our Dr about it... never thought about it... o.O
nurses and doctors say its not safe to paint or be around any tonxics while that far along in tour pregnancy. I am also in my third trimester and asked the same quewtion and my health care provider told me that there is Led located in the air and paint when using , so it is not safe to do so
