Prenatal Vitamin Subs?

I'm on my second pregnancy - Ok, my last pregnancy I experienced prenatal vitamin induced nausea as well. It wasn't even the fact that I was pregnant that I was nauseous! I would not take the prenatal vitamin and have NO nausea whatsoever! I tried so many different brands thinking it was the brand of vitamin. So this time around, i decided to ask my ob (duh). He said to sub 2 flinstone vitamins daily..??? WHAAAT? I feel like that's a joke, but maybe they know what they're talking about. Any other ladies have they're OB suggest this method?

Yes, I take them as I have hyperemesis which is constant, severe morning sickness. Trying to swallow a nasty tasting horse pill makes me super sick. Lol

My ob nurse said that they might work too...but they're really expensive for just one bottle ($19)...I think its only a half month supply b/c it says to take 2 a day...and so if i buy them and they don't work then id have spent the $ for nothing...lol - I know that the flintstone vitamins don't make me nauseous

Thanks...I was sort of skeptical about it @ first b/c even prenatal vitamins LACK amounts of some of the most vital vitamins pregnant women need...like calcium, vitamin d and iodine - and depending on the brand, sometimes even DHA and Iron!! So it was kind of a shocker to be told I could supplement 2 children's vitamins for 1 prenatal vitamin! lol thanks for the comments ladies - i do feel more at ease now :)

Have you tried vita craves gummies? I eat them with fruit snacks. They rock :)

Flintstones are often recommended for pregnant women.  Just be sure you have enough folic acid, even if you don't take any other vitamin.
