Q for UK mums: 'elective' c-section...

Hello all, looking more & more like I'll have to have a cs due to the little one having no interest in turning - spends all her time breech or transverse, as rh-ve I'm being advised cs is the safest delivery option. Just wondered how long the hospital stay is likely to be? Keen to get bk home ASAP, haven't asked the midwife yet due to being in denial about needing to have surgery! I'm used to being at the side of the operating table not on it! Thanks.

That's what bothers me about staying in for a few days, no sleep & hubby missing out on bonding time too while me & little one are in hospital. Still hoping she'll turn yet!
Thanks all for the replies!

I had an emergency c section with my first and having another c section with this one. I had my first very early on  thursday morning and I checked myself out on Saturday. The doctor wasn't happy about it another nd wanted me to stay for another day however I HATED the hospital.  I will probably do the same this time.

I'm having an elective c-section due to a low lying placenta. I've been told that although I should be home in days I will still be bed bound for up to 3 days after that. Own bed though with my own comforts. The catheter maybe in up to 24 hours - that's the bit that I have issues with!! Good luck

I'm from the U.S., I had an emergency cs on a late Friday evening and was discharged Monday morning at 8 am. Not a very long stay at all.

I think it's a two night stay on average post c-section, providing there are no complications. My friend had an emergency c-section late on a Thursday night and I think she came home the Sunday evening :)
