Rhogam anyone?

I am in the 15% of the population with B negative blood and my husband is positive. I will have to be administered the Rhogam shot at 28 weeks. Since this is my first pregnancy, I am constantly reading things and have come across some negative information about the shot. Have any of you moms had it? Can you request a Mercury-free injection? I don't know if I'm being too paranoid...

It's definitely important  to get it,  not worth the consequences  if you don't.   Oh and the ones whose husbands also have a - blood type,  you don't need the shot,  unless you're not sure that he's the father.

I'm A- had it with my first son 9 years ago and have had no issues. Had it at 28 weeks this time and they have changed it slightly, rather than 2 shots it's just one higher dose, and it no longer goes in the buttocks it's in the top of the arm. No side affects at all, I would have the shot everytime no hesitation.

I have 4 children, one misscarriage and pregnant again.  I didnt need the shot for first pregnancy, but the rest I did.  I have very healthy perfectly fine children.  The only thing the shot did to me was it hurt the rest of the day.

I'm o- and had it with both my children and there is no issues with either of my children. I am pregnant with my third child and plan to get the shot as well when they tell me it's time. The shot really does outweigh the cons bc your body can reject the baby.

I am A- and my husband is O+. I got 2 rhogam shots last pregnancy and my daughter doesn't have auyism and is perfectly fine. It's to protect the baby from your own blood creating antibodies against the baby's blood type if it turns out to be positive. I am getting the shot again this pregnancy.

I got it in my arm at 28 weeks, and after baby was born. No side effects, no paranoia (although i wasnt even aware I should be)... will get it again this pregnancy, midwife says if i have any bleeding to call and they can administer it asap, i guess if babys blood mixes with mine my body could try to reject baby as a foreign invader. Not sure if you can request mercury free...

My first boy wasn't born with autism.  My second was diagnosed with Aspegers at 14 months. We have worked hard with him since we found out.  He is so smart :) I'm so proud of him. For those who don't know people who are RH- don't share a common DNA ancestor as those who are RH+. You want some interesting reads. Check it out.  Apperently we don't have primate DNA. Lol three words Ancient Astronaut Theorists!  Lololol

Countless articles I have read have suspiciously linked
Rh- mothers with autism. I just don't know what to believe! They say that the injections contained very high levels of mercury and that the injection is unnecessary at 28 weeks. In Europe, they only administer it after the first baby is born to protect your future pregnancies. Why is it done so early on here?

My first has Autism too, is it linked to causing Autism? I wouldn't change anything though.

I'm O- as well and got the shot.  You will need another after you give birth too.  Higher chances to miscarriage if you refuse the shot

I am O- and my husband is B+. I had it with both mine and the pros out weigh the cons. If you don't your body can try to kill your baby. Probably won't happen with this one.  But any future pregnancies....
