Just wondered if anyone has experienced this and what was the outcome? Thank you.

Thanks for your responses :-) it's just so worrying I am also a first time mum and am just praying all will be ok when I go for the scan tomorrow.  Still bleeding brown blood now and notice tiny little clots. But as u said its old blood and I have no cramping so fingers crossed all will be fine. X

Yes am 22wks now but at @ 13wks I had brown blood. Dr. Told me it was fine that brown blood is old blood. So dont worry to much about it. Still go check it out best to be sure but, I think your okay:) hope all is well,  for you and your jellybean:)

Totally. I'm almost 18 weeks now and it's my 1st baby. I'm a labor nurse too. Thus happened to me at 11 weeks and a few days, random red/brown blood, no cramping, no sex that day or even the day before. Went to the doctor the next day just to check things out and was totally fine. The hallmark symptoms of miscarriage are bleeding AND cramping. You are close to being out of the 1st trimester too, when chance of miscarriage goes way down. Go to the doctor for a check up but try not to stress too much.  This sort of thing of actually really common. Still, I know it's har s nit to worry. Even with my experience,  I was worried bc I'm a first time mom myself,  now. It's scary,  but you will be okay :)
