TMI about bowels

I'm 38 weeks today and as of last Tuesday I was 2cm and 80% effaced. I have been having loose bowel movements  today and the cramps that go with it. My issue is that I'm also having bad lower back pain. I just don't know if that's normal or if it may be a sign of labor. Any ideas?

Thanks so much. I called my doctors office. She said lay my hand on my tummy if my stomach tightens 5 or more times in an hour to go to L&D.

With my first, I had really loose BMs and cramps about 4 days before my water broke. I started eating really light afterward.. I think it's your body preparing.. getting rid of anything unnecessary. I would just say eat light.
Congrats! You're so close

Can be back labour. I know I get that way when I have my period. Good luck!
