If I have a boy I will be having him circumcised. I have seen many little boys who have had trouble with their foreskin such as it getting infected or growing too tight that it needed to be removed at an older age. Everyone says "oh you'll be fine if you just teach them to clean it" except its hard enough to get a little boy to wash his hands (or even bathe period) let alone clean his foreskin.... Also in my personal opinion, I think uncircumcised men just look gross. I find a circumcised penis looks far more attractive.
It's brutal and horrible and NOT Needed! My sister demanded that my nephew was done and then ran crying from the room halfway thru. I then had to hold down a 2 week baby while he was cut up. I have a son and didn't get him done. It's actually illegal in the state I live too which is great. The only time it should be done is for medical reasons. If it wasn't meant to be there they wouldn't all be born with it. As for keeping it clean.... It has never ever ever been an issue. So yes do your research! It's not necessary and most doctors and parents are finally starting to realize it.
I chose to snip bc its less to take care of. I had a grandpa who had to have his done and 67 and very painful and had to stay in hosptial for a week. If you do it when they are born they will never remember it and it hurts less bc the feeling there isint there yet. I also have a friend who's husband isint and he made sure to have his son snipped bc it so much better to not have to worry about it.
I have heard people say if you teach them how to take care of it it shoudlnt matter but being a female And my husband is snipped I wouldn't have the forst clue how to take care a unsnipped one..
I would never do it. I think it's an old tradition people continue to do because that's what their family did before. I have friends who are very clean and uncircumcised. I've been in the surgeries as an assistant. It's brutal and unnecessary. Also, it really takes away from sexual pleasure later in life. Why do that to a baby or man later in life? Google how circumcision effects sexual pleasure.
I had my son 9 days ago and we got him circumcised. We weren't in the room when they did it and it didn't take a long time. He has had no problems with it. One of the nurses said that around here in our location that almost all boys are circumcised. It must be a regional thing.
Yes. Circumcise him! So much healthier and being from a culture that doesn't do it I have to say uncircumcised p's are not pretty!
My son isn't snipped...never ever had one issue. Made an informed decision.
Unknown, lots to think about. Did some more research and found that it gained ground as a social norm from the dude who invented corn flakes of all people. He hated sex, sinful yucky sex and promoted it to help so boys didn't masturbate as much.... You don't even want to know what he wanted us to do to little girls! =-O lots to think about. I like my clitoris and imagine if we had a son he wouldn't want to lose sensation. I know I wouldn't want to. Still thinking on it, but you guys and your input has been helpful. Thanks ladies!
My first sin is circumcised as will be the one I'm carrying. It's more hygienic for one and here they do it with an anesthetic and a day or so after birth so it's a lot less traumatizing. I know qquite a few adult men who had to get it done later in life for one reason or another and boy were they pissed lol.
Circumcision was around in america long before the corn flakes guy. It started being done occasionally in the 1800's to help prevent phimosis (a condition where the foreskin is so tight it cannot be retracted). After the end of slavery it was also mandated that all African American men were circumcised as a means to help prevent them from transferring diseases to white women.
I'm not saying that it want around, that is just when it became more of a social norm.
I am having my first child and he will be circumcised. It's more so for me, I'm not going to lie. I personally dont want to check when hes 5 to 10 to make sure he's cleaning everything properly. I have a few guy friends who had terrible infections due to horrible hygiene and it just scares me. Also, my husband is circumcised and I dont want them to be different and have that make him uncomfortable. I also want to keep the ring and put it im a scrapbook to tell future girlfriends, look how small he used to be! Haha but I say do whatever you think is best and you and your husband want, it really has no medical benefit and uncircumcised men tend to habe more feeling sexually because the foreskin is all nerves, I feel bad taking that away but thats it.
My son is still intact I call it the ant eater lol my cousin did get her son cut and the doctor did it so wrong that the back part was hanging and he had to go back and get cut again witch they cut it to high and it dont look right since they had the students do it then when it was time to change the diaper she forgot to put ointment she made him bleed and had to go back to the hospital...I prefer to live to p.p alonewitch cleaning a ant eater is not that hard..witch the nurse broke his skin in the back anyway
I would very much recommend circumcision due to hygeinic reasons. My cousin adopted a 9 year old boy who was intact and it becomes very painful for him when the foreskin gets dry and stuck to the penis. She'll be getting him circumcised very soon. Also, infections are very common if the foreskin is not pulled back and cleaned properly and theres only so much you can do as your son becomes older.
Hygiene has nothing to do with unless you don't wipe/clean it. Very easy to care for. Neither my son nor husband is circumcised. And you don't have to worry about for skin being to tight all you have to do is occasionally pull the skin away from the tip when you do diaper changes. As they get older it will eventually pull all the way my son is now 2 1/2 no problems skin pulls all the way back just pull it back during bath to clean.
I got my son circumcised he was 2 days old everything went smoothly he will never remember...I did it because it's cleaner also his dad is circumcised and I didn't want him to feel different when he got older
I attended and assisted in a lot of circumcisions while I was in school. Most of the time baby isn't bothered at all, or just a little cry. I am having a boy and am also interested in the current social norms. I'm going to discuss with his pediatrician what is most common and rates of this in our area. Honestly, I just want this kid to have what's normal. My husband is leaning towards yes and he is a physician (also attended many and even preformed them in his training)
I won't be getting my boy circumcised I don't think it is necessary, I live in the uk and I don't know anybody who has it done it isn't a big thing over here and regarding hygiene it should be down to the parents to ensure they teach their child to clean their body thoroughly and correctly. Each to their own I guess.
Pros and cons.... My son will be snipped... And I know people who are not and say sex hurts... If the girl isn't wet enough and never mind a virgin... One of my friends has to use lube everytime he has sex even with a wet girl... He says it feels like it is ripping... The sensation men get is not from the skin but from the head of the penis.... They say if your husband is circumcised to have your son done because he will look different and feel ashamed of his penis.... Good luck
YES - if it is required for any health reason, some boys need it as it grows too tight or other issues.
NO if not required for any health issues, I can't see the reason why it would be even considered then?
It is quite cruel..
