I got mine at Burlington coat factory. And I love it! It's Gracco brand and came with a jogging stroller, carseat, and base for only $180.
Keep an eye out on deal websites (especially this time of year!). Today slickdeals.net had a poster link to a Chico Cortina travel system on sale for 140! It was sold out by the time I got to it. Currently 247 on amazon, and I think retails at 330. I agree chiccos are really good, they excel above and beyond at the safety rating for nhis and consumer reports independent crash test ratings. Never have recalls either. Personally I'm keeping my eye out on craigslist : )
Are you in Canada? You can get really good second hand strollers on kijiji. I would recommend a BOB. Then you can get a car seat to attach to it.
Or if you're having a baby shower, you could register for a travel system as a group gift.
Oh i forgot to say the stroller was the cortina model. They have travel systems with different stroller models. The cortina has a snack tray.
I ordered a chicco set from a online store for my first. I love the chicco key fit 30 and the stroller is super easy to fold up and down with one hand. I don't remember what site i ordered it from. I had tons of pages open so i could compare prices on each site and then ordered from the one that had the best price. But i would totally recommend that system. It might be a little more pricy then aome but it had really great reviews when i researched it. My sister is due in January and is getting the same system.
My parents got us one from Walmart and its saftey 1st and its minnie mouse travel system i am not sure how much though but it was a bit cheaper than babies r us is what my step mom said
Got mine from Walmart. Target and Burlington have nice ones too. But They are expensive in general. I gotmine for about 130 which was pricey for me. I do know if you have a registry with target a few months before you're due they give you 15% off coupons. Which definitely helps. make sure you also read reviews and even look into ones you're interested on on YouTube. Ppl post reviews and demos.
