Do squats really help the baby drop or help you go into labor?

My prenatal yoga instructor swears pregnant women should do 20 squats a day.

One of my friends said that helped her along with getting on all 4s and sitting Indian style.

I did a bunch of squats and it actually helped my baby get in the head down position
