I topped the scale at 300# with my first pregnancy, a little over a year later got down to 179#... had a bad plateau due to repeated sinus infections, and gained 20 back. Now after starting weight lifting, I'm back to 200...so this pregnancy is a little nerve racking. Have been slowing down on my work outs due to nausea and exhaustion. But hopefully, I'm going to be able to start picking up the slack again soon. If anyone wants to have a pregnancy & post pregnancy health accountability partner, look me up on Facebook! Tasha Wolfe
Breast feeding will definitely help you lose the weight you gain during pregnancy. My doctor told me that because ive gained almost 50 pounds in my pregn
I would talk to your doctor and see what you're physically allowed to do, and how many calories you should be having a day. I used to weigh 287 and was down to 186 when I got pregnant. Because of pretty bad morning sickness I haven't been able to exercise, and I'm down to 169 (I'm almost twelve weeks). My doctor told me even with losing 17 lbs I'm not to gain any more than 15 lbs and because I'm overweight and it would be ok if I didn't gain anything at all. I'm starting to feel better and on my good days I go for walks and today I mowed the lawn. I've been eating a lot of fresh food (trying to avoid constipation), but I normally always journal my calorie intake... which I need to start doing again lol, but my doctor also told me not to increase my normal calorie intake till I'm in my third trimester and then only by 300 calories. But I guess my point is there is a lot you can do to help avoid excessive weight gain, but everyone is different and what works for one person isn't always going to work for you. That's why I suggested talking to your doctor. He should be able to tell you if you can safely workout at all, and what calorie intake to shoot for. He might even be able to refer you to a nutritionist which might make things easier for you. Good luck hun and don't become discouraged! I'm terrified that I'll gain too much weight during this pregnancy, but we can only do our best given our circumstances and everyone is different.
My plan is to walk after baby. I got up to 300 I lost down to 215 (I used to be 150 ish in high school) then found out im pregnant im about 240 ish now I havent gained much. I eat healthy im active and I the energy I used to focus on loosing weig hth t ive focused on being happy and feeling good. Its mental and how you feel about yourself jus be healthy :) goodluck. Im 34 weeks almost 35 and ive been feeling huge lol so I understand but like I said its mental dont allow yourself to feel bad ....and its not easy
First of all, congratulations for loosing that amount of weight, I'm obese and I know how hard it is to loose weight, u have an amazing will power. And, did the Dr told u is ok to gain all that weight? I'm 17 weeks and I've only gain 6 lbs, I was 250 before pregnant and now I'm 256, I'm very short too, so I can't gain more than 15 lbs, but honestly, don't worry about loosing the baby weight, if u lost all that before pregnancy, I know is gonna be easy for u to loose it, cause once u got used to exercise and eat healthy, u can start again and is easier than the first time, so enjoy ur pregnancy and good luck to u mama
And after baby is born (depending on the season) invest in a jogging stroller and go out for a run/jog with baby.
When I got engaged I was 175 lbs, I was determined to lose weight for my wedding and got down to 140 lbs. After being married for two and a half years I was 203 lbs. I was determined to get back into shape and that's when I found out I was pregnant. I too am so worried about gaining weight during my pregnancy and losing it afterwards. So far due to morning sickness I have lost weight and I am down to 188lbs however I do understand that weight gain is a part of pregnancy, but it doesn't have to be feared. Just make sure you watch what you are eating and watch your weight gain during your pregnancy. I was given a limit of 15-20 lbs by my Dr and I am trying my hardest to stick to it. Remember that once baby is born you lose a lot instantly because of baby, amniotic fluid, and the placenta. The weight that's hard to lose is all the extra you put on (my SIL for example gained over 70lbs with her last pregnancy). As long as you ate conscious about what you eat and try to get some activity in (even just short walks) you will be fine! :-)
