If I were at the mall or somewhere I'd walk until my body said it was tired which was about 20mins at a steady pace. If I was a track I walked a mile and on the last lap I would walk slow like a cool down.

You should have a steady pace and pump your arms. Your pace should be slightly faster than your walking pace. Do not over do it. It worked for me. Good Luck!!
