Water Breaking?

How much how quickly did your water break and where were you? How could you tell it was your water Breaking if it was a "slow leak?"

My water started leaking at 10pm just as I laid down to go to bed after taking a shower. I thought I wet myself at first but then it kept leaking and didnt smell or have color. It pooled in my vagina as I laid down.  Then when I got up to pee it would run out.  Never had contractions so I didnt go to the hospital until 7am the next morning.  A pad was all I needed to have to catch the fluid.  I drove myself to work, i worked at the hospital, and got admitted right then.  They broke my water after i wasnt progressing with pitocin after 10 hours of nothing.  I started at 5cm and had only moved to a 6.  Once they broke my water I went from 6 to 10 in 3 hours. Then there was baby after 3 pushes.

With my 1st, I woke up at like 4 in the morning and I thought I wet myself went to the bathroom to actually use the bathroom. I could not tell the difference. I changed my undies and laid back down 5 min later I was wet again..... so then I called the doc because I wasn't having any contractions and want sure. My doc said go to the ER just in case, but I've heard where people go and get sent back home, so I was nervous I didn't want everyone to think I peed on myself, LOL. I went to the ER and 6 hrs later gave birth to my baby girl! That was 7 yrs ago. Now I'm expecting my son next month so it will be interesting to see how things go.
