When can I take a test?

So Im 2 months post partum. I have used a condom every time. The thing that has me worried is that I have already had what i think was two periods. the first one was normal then the next one came really early it was spotting. First it was pinkish then the next day it was red and then the third day it was brownish. I read thats its totally normal to have irregular lighter/heavier period after baby. So it started on saturday at about 5 am. It stopped Monday morning and the most blood I got was when it was red and it covered about half a tampon. so I took a test on Monday and it was negative then I took it today and it was still negative.... Im so afraid Im having cramps and diarrhea... None of this is normal for me.. when will a test be accurate after suspected implantation? Thanks

Oh my gosh, I'm wondering the same!! Only difference is I'm breastfeeding and haven't gotten my cycle...can we say stressed?! I want to start my BC, but am afraid to get the shot without knowing for sure. Wish I could give you helpful advice, but I'm just as confused as you. Good luck and best wishes!

Im willing to bet you arent pregnant though.

How Effective Is Using Breastfeeding as Birth Control?
Effectiveness is an important and common concern when choosing a birth control method. Like all birth control methods, breastfeeding is much more effective when you do it correctly.
Less than 1 out of 100 women who practice continuous breastfeeding perfectly will become pregnant.
About 2 out of 100 women who use continuous breastfeeding will become pregnant in the first six months if they don't always practice it correctly.
Using breastfeeding as birth control can be effective for six months after delivery only if a woman
does not substitute other foods for a breast milk meal
feeds her baby at least every four hours during the day and every six hours at night
has not had a period since she delivered her baby
Keep in mind that breastfeeding does not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases. Use a latex or female condom to reduce the risk of infection.
Also keep in mind that breastfeeding can only be relied on for six months after delivery. By the time your baby is six months old, you should start using another birth control method.

Most women dont start there period until they introduce formula or food in there babies diet which is usually around 6 months. I breast fed my daughter for 13 months and i got pregnant at 6 months with my son lol. You should still get birth control though so you dont have to stress out and you never know when you ovulate.

Implantation bleeding doesn't usually last 3 days and doesn't usually fill half a tampon with red blood. Could be just a lighter period...especially if a condom was used every time and there was no visible failure (breaking or slipping off)

And I suggest you take a test the day of your missed period if you still would like to test. I had implantation bleeding when I got pregnant and the only blood I saw was a little bit of brown when I wiped, and it was for a day. I tested positive 5 days after that.

Thank you so much! Only problem is I am supplementing and don't pump as often as I should. But I still seriously doubt I am. You know it just does something to you and freaks you out at the possibility so soon, especially after you had to push for 2.5 hours and that was with the help of the OB using the vacuum on my son. Not to mention we are finally able to get more than a couple of hours of sleep at night. :) When are you expecting your next cycle to come on?
