baby #2

When is the best time to have baby #2? I have a 6 month old now and trying to see when to start trying again. I'm also terrified of the baby blues, I had them for 2wks after my first baby. Does anyone know if it's just as bad the second time around, it is it better because you know what to expect? Please share your thoughts I'm very interested!!!

I have a 7 year old a 11 month old and due in 6 weeks to have our 3rd. The only thing that is hard is having my son climb on my belly not comfortable but we have been trying for 12 years so we are excited that we got pregnant so fast.

We found out we were pregnant with our second when our first was 4 months old and he was born 15 days after our first turned 1 yr. We are pregnant again with our 3rd and when this one is born we will have a 2 1/2 yr, and 1 1/2 yr old. Keeps you busy but I personally enjoy having them close. It is really a personal choice on when you feel ready. We were not originally planning on having ours so close but wouldn't change it for anything.

I had my second when my first was 22 month old. It was pretty hard and overwhelming. I would wait till the baby is 18-24 months old to start trying. And if you had a cesarean, doctors recommend to wait couple of years for your uterus to heal properly. Good luck!! :)

We have 3 boys, there is 4 years between or oldest and middle then two between middle and youngest. When our little one is due they wl br three years between the two. I love it. Always only had one in diapers. But did have a bit of jealousy over breastfeeding with the two year difference.

We wanted to wait til our daughter was 2 or 3 YEARS old. But I am 27 weeks pregnant and my daughter is 10 months old. We are beyond excited!  Things just worked out a little differently. It's going to be hard at times..but worth it:)

Thank you. I ended up being induced and was in labor for 34+ hrs, then a decision for emergency csection. I was fine in hospital but day we got back, I just started crying and remember looking at her and thinking oh my god I have to take care of her. I think it would have been better if I were prepared for that but everyone I talked to had never mentioned baby blues. Until I had my experience and started being open about it everyone well mostly everyone, agreed and admitted they had baby blues as well. I was so overwhelmed but couldn't love her more anything. It was just a scary time and thankfully it went away after 2 wks. So I'm laying that with this future second baby that baby blues stays away from me :-)

You might not have the baby blues again, but then again you could.
I plan on waiting until this baby is a year- a year and half old to start trying again. I want to give my body time to recover.

I didn't get any blues except the first days after the surgery. It wasn't something i was expecting nor prepared for. I felt sad that I couldn't physically take care of my baby as i wanted to. I felt i was a bad mom. I was in labor 19 hrs (induced) and caught an infection so i was on probiotics the first couple of days or weeks once baby was born. I didn't even want to take pics of me so I wouldn't remember how bad i felt..and had problems breastfeeding. But they went away once i started recovering.

My friend just had her second a month ago when her son was 20 months. Right now it seems like having two under two is hard, but she had baby blues with #1 and not #2. My daughter will be 2 yrs 2 months when we have our second. I'm glad I waited until I was done night nursing before getting pregnant again. I'm still nursing 2-4x per day but that hasn't been stressful and I would be excited if my oldest is still nursing when this baby comes.

Hmm I'm 31 yrs old so I don't want to wait too long and I want 3. I'll probably wait till my little one is 1 and then I'll start trying. Did any of you happen to have baby blues?

I think ithe earlier the better. I have a 7 year old, and a 10 month old and I'm 3 months pregnant right now. Although these two are close in age I think it'll be good for them, they'll be close and I can reuse some stuff (furniture wise) and clothes as long I'm having another girl (even though I'm hoping for a boy!

Im 15 weeks pregnant and have a 1 yr old. It's really hard to take care of my girl while im pregnant. I can hardly carry her and play with her or put her to sleep. And i can only breastfeed her during nights. She still wakes up2-3 times each night so on top of that im dealing with fatigue from pregnancy. I found out i was pregnant around the time she was 9 months so if you're up for all of that go for it but if not waiting is good until your baby is more settled down and independent. Also, not sure if you had a vaginal or csection (i had a csection) but my doctor says im at risk for pre term labor since i got pregnant within a year of giving birth, it takes 1 year and a half to heal. Good luck with whatever you decide!
