baby being evicted out of womb

So according to my doctor im 41 weeks and 2 days...according to my very last ultrasound (not performed by my doctor)  im 40 weeks and 2 days....so my doctor just told me im getting  induced this wed at 1am....cervix hasnt been ready, just earlier today he just put his finger up high in my vajaijay and all of a sudden he was like "you are 1cm" .....I feel no contractions whatsoever and honestly I feel cheated and upset. In my opinion if my baby is ok we should get at least a few more days but the doc doesnt want to bother anymore. Im happy I'll get to meet my baby soon but I just wish the doctor wouldn't have to kick her out! Has this happened to any of you ladies out there?

I had a friend who went into labor at 34 weeks. They stopped it and sent her home.  Had her normal apts after that  then At 39 weeks she went to get checked out and the baby had died. She was actually 38 wks when they stopped her labor. So when she found the baby died she was actually around 43 weeks so I always refuse to go.past 40 weeks!!!

From a medical standpoint it isn't better to wait once you become post term despite what some may say. The truth is your placenta is loosing the ability to nourish your baby every day you continue post term. Also, you do have an increased risk of baby having toxemia due to one or more bowel movements in the womb. Also is the risk of a larger baby and more complicated delivery. I'm sure your doctor has the best interest of you and baby in mind. Good luck!

Thank you ladies for their input.Kind of late for me to say no. I felt pressure by everyone around me including my husband, they all want this baby out and me being a first time mommy felt like im the bad one here so I didn't set my foot on the ground.I should've said no cause it just doesn't feel right but anyway, hopefully it'll go fast.

Unless your baby is in distress there is no medical reason to induce if you're past due. In fact, research shows that its safer for both you and baby to wait and let it happen naturally. Ask for a stress test, it determines if your baby is still doin okay. The due date is just.a guesstimate!  Inductions are mote convenient for docs, that's the only reason they push them. The doc can't make you do anything you don't want to! Its your body, your baby, your birth, if you aren't comfortable with being induced then dont feel like you have to let them!

If they're is no medical need to induce then it's safest to keep baby in there.

its important to get baby out soon as you are now past due. its more dangerous by the day if baby dose not come out, for both you and baby. with any luck they hook you up to the juice and baby comes naturaly.

ive been induced twice now and about to be for the third time. the first time waa because my water  started leeking, 2weeks early and my contractions stoped.  the second time we could not get my blood sugars under control and I was at risk of going into a coma, he was born a month early. this pregnancy I will be being induced a month early, due to a number of complications and my blood sugar hitting rock bottom was the last straw. I now have 3 weeks until its safe to do so. try not to worry, its really not as bad or scarry as we twnd to think it is.

You have the right to say no if you have no medical reason to get her out
