baby related, not pregnancy....

Need some advice from anyone who has had boys. My little man arrived May 13. He hasn't had many wet diapers and I realized why today. It seems he is peeing out the top of his diapers in the front and back. His thing stays straight up and to the side. I tried folding in the top part of the front of his diapers and it stopped coming up the front but it's still going out the back. Is there any tricks to keep his pee in his diaper? This is my 1st boy and I have no idea everyone I know says they don't know that their sons never did this. I already have to do his laundry because hehas been wwetting everything and we just came home from hospital yesterday evening. I'm really at a loss here. Any advice would definitely be appreciated.

Yea my nephew had got his parents and my daughter so that I've been expecting. What caught me by surprise is how far they can squirt out poop at this stage where it's still runny and seedy looking. My husband had a good laugh when he got home this morning and found out why my bed was changed and all. Got to admit though it is funny now that I've got some sleep and everything cleaned up. Definitely going to use more caution when changing him at night, don't want to have a mess like that to clean up in middle of night again. Lol

Thank you all so much it worked I just have to put on diaper and then go in through leg to pull it downward so it stays but he has peed in his diapers all night. Only episode we had last night was when he squirted poop everywhere while I was changing him and of course it had to be on my bed. Lol having a boy sure has been interesting so far.

I have 3 boys and have always had the same problem....I only use pampers diapers..they didnt seem to pee though them as easily and I always tuck his little penis downward and fold the top of the diaper over just a bit in case it points back up.  Good luck...he will grow out of it quickly!  Mine usually stopped after the first couple of weeks!

I was afraid that would hurt him by trying to push it downward. I'm going to just change his diaper now and fix that before he wets everything again lol. Thanks I was wondering and figured there had to be a way to keep it from happening.

I had the same issues with my son. I finally asked my mil as she had 3 boys, my mom only had girls. She said to point it down, and I didn't have any problems after that. At least I know what to do with this new little guy in a few weeks!

My son is 18 months old. Whenever I put his nappy on I simply make sure his penis is pointing downwards. Stops anything escaping out the top :)

I had this happen with my first son to no one told me that you have to point his thing down. I thought I was gonna hurt him since it always wanted to be up but it wont hurt him.
