baby's heartbeat

Hi all
Am 14 weeks pregnant and I have a fetal doppler at home..I heard my babys heartbeat yesterday and the day before and it was regular and strong and about 150
Todau I tried to hear it again ..I could catch it for 3 seconds and I couldn't pick it up after ..I don't know why ..is that normal?  Could the baby change his position so I couldn't pick up the heartbeats for more than 3 sec then I lost it?

No worries. I have a home doppler and have the hardest time finding the heart beat. I'll catch it a few seconds then the baby moves. Even my doc has trouble. My baby just isn't in the mood to found. But everything is healthy. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow.

Not to scare you, but u should read up on some of the doctors opinions about the fetal dopplers, a lot of them don't like them bc the mothers are not seeking medical attention like they should bc they think they locate the heartbeat.. Good luck with baby!! God bless!!

You can get a version of the doppler at Walmart or babies r us. Hcg levels are a blood test  the dr runs.

If baby is super active at the time, the heart rate will be higher. Nothing to worry over. :)

Babies move and it can make it really hard to pick up the heartbeat. Especially in the early weeks.

Totally normal.  At my 16 wk at docs office. My baby had turned her back towards my spine and was low. It was almost impossible to get her hb on the doppler so we went into the us room really quick. Sure enough she was dancing away. Sometimes its just  tough to locate them.
