blood type

Soo my midwife informed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood because my cells will fight against it so at 28 weeks I have to have an injection to prevent this from happening in the mean time if I fall or bang my bump i have 48 hours to get this injection before it can cause harm?? Has any1 ever heard of this ??

Husband and I are both veterans so we knew our blood types, I'm O neg and he's A pos. I had to get the rhogam at 28 weeks. It's nothing to worry over. Your doctor will go over everything with you. Just so you know though, they sick you in the hip and it burns and it will hurt for a while afterwards.

I'm O- and hubby is A+, so I'm in the same boat. I'd recommend having your partner's blood type tested. Your dr can order it so insurance will pay for it, and if he has a negative blood type, it'll be cheaper than gettig the shot.

Im am O neg and this is my 4 child, you'll get your Rogaime shot (however you spell it) and you'll be fine.

Hmm its interesting my partner still needs to be tested but I'm wondering if this was the reason I miscarried a few years bk with a different partner and why it took me to get to 16 weeks before I even knew anything about this. Would u recommend me to ask for this injection before 28weeks??

I am same way to I had to have my rogam shot after my stillborn and at beginning of this pregnancy bc I was spotting and have to have it again when I go back the 6 th of january...its bc your negative blood can reject the baby if you don't get the shot you'll have to get it again once you have the baby to to prevent from problems with next pregnancy if yoi decide later to have another child ...if you fall doesn't mean youll need the shot its just if you start spotting you need it asap bv that means your bodys starting to reject the baby and getting the shot will prevent it if possible unless you waited to long to get shot once you see the spotting ....if you fall and are ok and no spotting you won't need the shot till 28 weeks and then again after babys born ....the shot lasts 12 weeks ....hope that helps I've has to have this **** many times

I'm in the same situation, I'm o negative. But I'm 31 weeks and I've already had 2 injections. One at beginning of pregnancy and another a couple weeks ago. I'll also need one after birth. But from what I was told this pregnancy and others. U should have already had this injection. But my doctor is very cautious so maybe its just him being prepared! But good luck just be super super careful till u get it.

Does the baby's father have an RH+ blood type? Then you would need the concern over the shot. But if not, then you would be fine. Here, I am A- and my husband tested as O- so we are all good...

If your baby has any positive blood type if your body senses the RH factor, what makes blood positive, your body will try to attack it,  in turn attacking baby.

Is Not vitamin D its called rhogam.  It will prevent you from rejecting this child or future children.  My mother is B- and had to get it with me. I'm B+ so I won't have to do it.
