She is asking if it would hurt her baby... one beer will not hurt baby... now I would not say the same if she would have asked about drinking a case a day... she was not asking to be downed or anything else.. I have seen women wanting support about abortion get better comments and more support than this woman asking about a beer.

Why take a chance? Once you are pregnant your body pretty much belongs to the baby, imho. I don't even take Tylenol while pregnant.

I personally wouldn't do it, but one beer doesn't have nearly as much alcohol as wine or liquor - and if ur not drinking on a regular basis it wouldn't do anything to ur baby.

I think deep down you know that's it's better to stay away from the temptation that opens doors to an addiction.

Why risk it? Is it worth ur child having problems? Just because YOU couldn't say no. :'(

I was told by many Dr's that a glass of wine with dinner is fine... I wanted to clarify so I asked of it mattered if it was wine or just a drink. I was told it really DoD not matter as long as you don't have more than one normal sized drink. They also said the lower the alcohol content was in drink the safer. One Dr did say that wine has nutritional value that others do not have so if someone would have a drink with dinner or to relax that wine would probably be the best choice...

Youll be fine with 1 beer...and so will your baby. Most people don't even drink coffee. Dont be too paranoid. I have 2 kids and they're super healthy. I never gave up my coffee or 1 drink once in a while.

See... the only studies done, are after the fact, on women who have admitted to drinking. What they have found is that it takes 7+ alcoholic drinks A DAY to show an effect on fetal development. If these women are admitting to 7, imagine how much they are really drinking. I do not drink when I am pregnant, because I enjoy drinking a lot, not just a little lol. I'd rather just have none. I know many many women, who are extremely well educated, one who had 5 kids, who will have a Margarita or a few drinks while pregnant. I really don't judge them at all. There are way worse things that people don't even realize they do. Green tea can cause miscarriage or mental retardation in the first trimester, eucalyptus can cause miscarriage. I'd say, have a beer and stay away from nutritionally void food and you'll be ahead of the game : )

Well I asked my Dr and he said I beer or glass of wine a week in the first is fine and second trimester 2 a week and third you can have one glass of wine with dinner whenever... I went by those rules last pregnancy and my son is just fine but I know people freak out about all kinds of things so idk... It's up to you.. If your Dr said no then I don't know what to tell ya ;)

Doctors don't know how much it takes to give a baby FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome which affects everything from facial structure (what they look like) to how they develop internally and mentally) so docs say no. Plain and simple. No alcohol.

The studies ate unclear so most doctors say to not do it. They don't know if it might contribute to learning disabilities, adhd, and things like that. Since there haven't been an adequate amount of studies done it's kind of an unknown although some doctors do clear you for a glass.of wine every now and then I haven't heard of any clearing you in the first trimester because your babies brain and nervous system are growing rapidly and this is when environmental factors can have an effect on how their brain develops
