c section

I had a c section 7 years ago and I feel like things have changed. Has anyone had one recently? I heard they call you now when they have a bed free. How does that work? My husband and I live an hour away from hospital.  Does things change having a c section at 35/36 weeks.

I feel much better. I have to have a c section at 35/36 weeks because of my last c section i had a T incision and where it cross is too weak. another words, my uterus is compromised and they're free then once I start contractions the old scar tissue will burst open. Plus i have a slew of other medical problems. A week before they will switch my blood thinner medication from Lovenox and start steriods to help babies lungs mature.

depending on your insurance and the health of the baby they don't do a c section until 39 weeks because most insurance wont pay unless something is wrong with you or baby or your water break early  but I had a c section at 30 weeks with my daughter two years ago and vbac on this past Saturday at 37 weeks  but if they are going to do a c section they schedule it weeks in advance like around 36 weeks however if you develop high blood pressure I mean really high or high blood sugars or high protein levels or baby is in distress they usually do it the same day or they will try to hold off for as long as they can to get baby more close to 37 weeks even if the hospital doesn't have any beds they will still do it if its an emergency and then switch you to another hospital by ambulance but I know it hard not to worry but everything will be fine trust me if its planned you will have a date ahead of time even if its just 24 hours ahead but they don't call you when they have beds available its scheduled at the doctor office when you come in for an appointment

Mine was scheduled the week of my due date. I've had 3 now. First one was due to complications at birth and my dr wouldnt let me try vbacs due to complications. But my last two were both scheduled the week of my due date. With my last one here last week...they called the day before and moved my time of surgery up due to some changes and an opening.
