Does it hurt when the dr takes it out? My dr said she will try to take it out in the office but if she cant then ill get anesthesia at the hospital.  Jus curious if anyone has had a cerclage before...this is my first.

Your welcome. It's quick you won't feel pain until actual labor. Cerclage ain't nothing (=

This is my 2nd cerclage. When they removed mine at 36 weeks it didn't hurt me. It felt like a pap smear to me. You feel a little pressure down there but once they remove it you feel normal again. Might get cramps or start contracting after they remove them. I dilated to 4cm with my son within 10 mins after removal of cerclage.

Cerlcage is mostly used for incompetent  cervix. Basically my cervix isnt strong enough to hold my baby in. I had the surgery at 18 weeks its been successful im now almost 33 weeks. If I hadn't jad the surgery I would have lost him at 20 weeks. The surgery didnt hurt I had a spinal tap for that I wasnt sore afterwards im jus scared taking it out will hurt

I had mine taken out after being in labor for 7 days after my water broke.  It hurt so bad. I couldn't take it, so my sweet doctor made everyone leave the room,  then he had a nurse put something in my IV and I couldn't feel it after that.  I was 25 weeks.
