Not necessarily, my personal experience... i was 38 wks preg and was 2cm dilated, did not went into labor that week, a week later went to my 39 wks appt and was 3 cm dilated asked to be induced because i was so tired, so i supposedly having sexual Intercourse helps lol so i try that, and nope went to the hospital at 7am for my induction and was 5 cm dikated but had no signs of labor what do ever, i was a little scared because always thought that induction was more painful but i absolutely enjoyed it, i was so relax, and everything was going so smoothly... so only pushed twice and she was out :-)

When I had my cervix check I was 3 1/2 weeks from my due date and I was dilated to 3.  I had her a week early but it wasn't my body's l decision. I was induced early
