Well my previous doctor let us swab ourselves for strept B so maybe you never had to undress and that's why you can't remember...I have never had the doc do the swab on me and that has been four pregnancies

How are they supposed to swab your vagina area if you have pants on? I'm sure you will only need to take bottoms off and cover with a sheet. They are doctors and I'm sure he has seen it all before. He wouldn't make you undress if he didn't need to

Every pregnant woman gets a culture done at 35 wks (I think) to check for bacteria called Strep B. If you're positive for it then you will receive antibiotics in your iv during labor and delivery so that the bacteria won't pass to the baby. Its harmless to the mother and has no symptoms. Nothing bad some women just has it.

Do you have a possible bacterial infection where they need to culture a sample from the discharge in your vagina? That's all I can think of
