daddy can't make it

I found out I was pregnant a week before I was leaving to go cross country for a job promotion. Hubby is staying behind while I get everything set up in our new city. I have my first doctor appointment on the 13th of March. He will not be able to attend since he'll be back home still. He's a little torn up that he can't be there for the first ultrasound. My sister (oddly enough) only lives an hour away and will be going with me. Would it be odd to ask my sister to document the first visit for my hubby? Does anybody else have it where their so can't make important appointments? What do you do?

Facetime him... I know thats a special moment. Even thought its not close & personal. Yourself, your sister & your husband can experience that amazing moment. Look at the positives you will have PLENTY more doctor appointments/ ultrasounds.

I agree get Skype or oovoo those video chat apps are great for situations like this and this way he won't miss out and recording it too that way u may be able to send it to him and he'll be able to see the baby until u guys are reunited

My doctor's office does not allow Skype, video or pictures for liability purposes during the appointment. You'll need to check with them ahead of time. We had a similar situation and all I was able to do was txt him pics of the u/s after it was over.

Been in your shoes. You could always Skype him while there and you guys can share the moment together without actually being together. If Skype is not an option then have her record it. Although it may take away from your sisters experience your hubby can be apart of it
