My Mom had to have an emergency c section with my little twin sisters and was able to have a vaginal birth with my little brother after that and he went 40 weeks and was well over 9lbs but she had no complications. My Mom did see a midwife with my little brother and so I think that is why she was not pressured into another c section or induction. Best of luck to you!
I normally don't listen to drs when it comes to this because with my first two they could not have been more wrong! But this time I'm bothered by it because I've measured big from the beginning. I do make big babies. Both of mine were 8 1/2 pounds so I'm genuinely interested in these findings. I'll be going on 37 weeks this week. The last us I had was last week and I go in for another one next week. According to the us the drs figure the baby weighed 7.7 pounds so they were concerned with how big he could get in four more weeks because of the history of my other two.
Late scans can be really inaccurate, how many weeks are you? And no, a bigger baby doesn't necessarily mean more developed (although in my experience - limited to 2 kids, it seemed to work that way!)
