driving?

My mom keeps trying to tell me I won't be able to drive. I plan on driving to and from the hospital and I will have to take my bf to and from work after. Anyone have any experience. I know I'll be sore but I think I'll be able to drive.

I'm not sure about driving to the hospital because if ur contracting it won't be that easy but I know I couldn't drive after about 37 weeks because I am very short legs and small feet so couldn't brake and apply the clutch at the same time if needed without picking both feet up of the floor (which git to be impossible)lol so I'd say see how it goes but do have a back up just incase :)

If you have to have a cesarean then I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to drive for atleast 2 weeks, but it might be longer.

When my mom was pregnant with me, when she went inti labor she drove to the hospital, but my dad drove her once she was discharged. Thats very possible to get there, but I think to be discharged you have to have someone to get you.

My sister drove herself to and from the hospital well I guess there dont count because she was induced but my mom was in full active labor when she drove herself to the hospital lol

My bf knows how to drive jus no license but I figure if he has to he can drive. Im jus worried about himbworking. I kno we need to get his license but he also needs glasses and financially jus covering bills so extras are hard.

At my hospital they won't let you leave if you drive yourself.

I also have another back up plan my cousin has offered lol I love my mom but idk...plus her vehicle is hard to get in and out.

I delivered vaginally and was told not to drive for at least 2 weeks.

It's illegal in some places for a lady in labor to drive.

I will be driving myself to the hospital, I have a scheduled induction date. My hospital wont allow you to drive home either. You are technically not supposed to drive for a week or two after vaginal delivery. But 11 days after baby #2 I made a 12 hour trip to my moms just me and the kids... go by how you feel and don't over exert yourself, you'll just end up causing more damage to your body.

I have a friend who tried to drive herself to the hospital while having contraction shad an exceptionally strong one & ended up going off the road & rolling her car down an embankment. She almost lost the baby during the accident & had to give birth in the ambulance with a broken ankle and dislocated shoulder. I wouldn't recommend it. You're betterboff calling a cab or ambulance if you have no other way.

After I delivered my daughter was in the nicu for 11 days and my doc didn't release me to drive for 2 wks so I had to find ways to get to the hospital after I refused to leave and went home for one night! They said it's cause if we get in a accident we could bleed internally and never know it cause the way we're bleeding anyway! U will need a ride home and a ride to the baby's doc a few days after u get home and the pain meds they give u they don't want u driving on them! Sorry! Ask ur doc that way u have time to get ur plan in order! I couldn't even fit behind the wheel the last wk I was pregnant!
